Applying Neuroscience to Robot Vision

Scientists have attempted to replicate human attributes and abilities such as detailed vision, spatial perception and object grasping in robots.
After three years of intense work, the members of EYESHOTS* have made progress in controlling the interaction between vision and movement, and as a result have designed an advanced three-dimensional visual system synchronized with robotic arms which could allow robots to observe and be aware of their surroundings and also remember the contents of those images in order to act accordingly.

Sindhi Culture and Customs

"Today, neither smoke nor flame from ascetics' huts is seen,
They have left, leaving me with the taste of their company so sweet,
Jeejal mother! tears of separation from them will kill me."
......Shah Bhitai [sur Ramkali]
Oh, yes, my dearest mother Sindh, my jeejal mother, my beloved motherland, my sweet fatherland, they are gone! Your children - my brothers and my sisters, your loved ones and me -all have left. You nurtured them and nourished them with your life. You loved them and protected them with your blood, sweat and tears. Now, you are old, you are feeble, you are alone, you are under siege and you are dying! You need them!! They are there no more! They have left you to fend for yourself - they have foresaken you, they have abandoned you. Yes, tears of separation from them will kill you!

Offenders include: Adobe Gamma Loader, Fast Find, msmsgs (Messenger), Office Startup, qttask (Quicktime), System Agent, Real Player, Norton. To stop programs from automatically starting, remove the file from the Programs - Startup folder, left click on the icons in the System tray and turn off automatic loading, or consult the help file of each program to turn it off. Run MSCONFIG to get a list of programs that run on startup and remove unnecessary ones.

Is It a Phone? Is It Paper? It's the Origami Phone!

Created by Chengyuan Wei, the paper Origami handset comes flat, and then like a pop-up book, changes into a 3D handset with a few key folds.
Wei was inspired to create the recyclable handset after taking apart a standard telephone headset and realizing just how simple its construction was. The designer was also mindful that new phones come to market on a weekly basis, but don't demonstrate much in the way of design changes.
